Done as a sort of homage/gift for my first Art History teacher. She had opened my eyes to the fact that there are far more artists out there than da Vinci, and awakened me to the use of symbolism in art.
Mucha and Vermeer's "Art of Painting" are my obvious inspirations (indeed, I am - or rather, Tym is - dressed as Clio, the Muse of History).
As for technique, this was drawn in ink on the obverse of a sheet of vellum, then colored with Prismacolor markers on the reverse.

Thanks a lot! it's a really interesting technique, especially if you can keep the marker coloring from being all streaky...maybe i'll try it with something like watercolor, or maybe even gouache. Looking back at this, i wish i had used a French curve. lol
