A Canadian goose from another era awaits his friend...poor thing, seems he's been stood up.
Done at this year's FC (Further Confusion) Picnic. There was a flock of Canadian geese there and this idea just popped into my head (although, originally he was in pink pinstripes and a straw skimmer hat a'la Renoir's "Luncheon of the Boating Party").
I'm quite proud of it...doesn't it just look like something from "Rupert"?

Haha, the pinkstripes would have been amusing, but this sets a more melancholy mood better. I like the story-like scene, and the great style used here.
If you put anything in a flat cap and tweed, it is instantly awesome.

[Yay! My first comment ever, here!] I agree completely. as i said, my original idea was to have him in pinstripes, you know, boating on a sunday afternoon...but when i started drawing (with the gazebo) i was struck with such a sense of melancholy...i just had to tweed him up in a grey british day, complete with unrequited love and driver's cap.
i'm not altogether pleased with the linework...but i suppose it's ok for just an old hotel ballpoint

This is superb, better than I could do, to be sure, as coloring things isn't my strong point(Neither is people-like critters). But this is a good picture, I like your style.

Thank you - you're too kind :D
There's still a lot of things I'm not too pleased with on this one...partly the way it scanned, now that I look at it again. And as far as coloring, i just used a brush pen and a 5-color watercolor palette.
